Ebola virus disease in Senegal

There have been no cases of Ebola virus disease reported in Senegal for 42 days (two incubation periods) following the single confirmed case in a traveller to Dakar from Guinea. On October 17th, the World Health Organization declared the end of the outbreak in Senegal.
The outbreak of Ebola virus disease is ongoing in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone and additional cases in these countries can be expected. Unrelated confirmed cases and deaths have been reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
